your loved ones ;-)
Today's time for a long entry and it is all about only a year abroad Turn in the U.S.. Since I (the day after tomorrow I can say this year) next year in the summer will be there, I can you answer a few questions I've often seen on the web. If it's more interested you will read this, if not - there is an x above :-)
Thou hast therefore considered an exchange year (ATJ) to make but you're still not sure.
your motives: some have
- the daily life of a foreign country dominate
- student exchange as peoples
- after the gap year a foreign language perfectly
- through a year abroad, you have better opportunities in later working life
- be more independent and confident
- another school system
- interest in other cultures
know then you must you decide. Maybe you can put these questions:
should First of all, you yourself really want a year abroad. If someone else wants you to go abroad, then you should let it rather be.
you should take when deciding for or against an exchange year also aware be what it is one year out of familiar surroundings to go away and whether you will succeed . Here are some points you should consider:
- Can you give some time to your parents and friends?
- Can you give to your daily routine?
- Can you do without usual luxury (eg lack of public transportation in the U.S.)?
- Can you integrate into a foreign family with their customs and traditions?
- Can you accept it, that is expected of you an equal family member with all its rights and obligations to be?
- Are you able to build you a new circle of friends?
- You can sit at the customs of your host country and you (for example, go to church on Sundays) you can offer fundamentally different?
- Are you leaving them in a position to help you with problems of your new people?
- You probably know that you can change yourself during your stay?
- You probably know that you might have to build after your return, a new circle of friends?
First of all you should have a primary or secondary school diploma or the 10th Class have been completed and 15 to 18 years old. There are also organizations that offer that you can rather go abroad. Of these, we would rather advise you, and certainly there will be exceptions, but in the 7th or 8 Class one is personally not ready. In addition to satisfactory health and education services should bring a degree of tolerance, independence and maturity. These properties of each organization also provided different because you have to ask then individually.
Now it is up to you how you decide and this decision you can not remove.
If you've decided then you go into the application phase.
You have to consider in which country would you want to know which organization you choose and how you finance all the fun.
Here's ne organization list:

My organization is called into student exchange and I am satisfied so far suuuper! :-)
into student exchanges organized since 1986 successful high school programs.
the Youth and language courses, we can look back even at 30 years of experience. Meanwhile, young people visit with into student exchange among other schools in the USA , England , Ireland , Scotland , Canada , Australia , Zealand , South Africa , Brazil , Italy , Spain, France , Sweden, Finland , Norway and Argentina .
we are taking a lot of commitment and personal dedication that our students stay abroad is a successful and memorable experience.
in all areas is our Quality at the top. Therefore into student exchange member of the German Association High School (DFH) , who supports a high quality standard in international high school programs. In addition into is a member of WYSTC , the association for quality assurance of youth travel.
In the U.S. we only work with partners who CSIET (Council on Standards for International Educational Travel) members, the association of recognized U.S. exchange organizations.
Once you have submitted your application, you will be invited for an interview.
The most common method is a student or student-parent meeting with the organization. This is an interview (in English or German) with a representative of the organization where you (and maybe your parents) to motivation, interests, expectations, etc. will demand! These discussions are usually very loose and you must have no fear.
Another possible choice is a group conversation. In this interview you will sit down with about 4 other people before a selection committee and you will get problem situations described, shall discuss it. This is not about knowledge but about the group behavior and ability to discuss what the trained members recognize the Committee can decide whether you are suitable for an exchange year. This may sound worse than it is! It's not about what you have for an opinion, because there are not wrong and right about something!
The last option is a whole selection weekend. On the selection weekend are you with other students who have applied (4-50 people, depending on the committee) and there is much discussion in groups and made discussion and creativity games. The fun is not neglected, should be clear to everyone! As I know, not really a competition behavior prevails among the people, on the contrary, many remain also still in contact! In
General one can say that you just you shall be yourself, then it works already! Do you think not too worried about it, often is the conversation / weekend much more relaxed and looser than you.
If you're accepted, you will get either immediately or at the latest within the next 2 weeks notice! You're not accepted, then try it with another organization. Because most of it has nothing to do with you personally, but just the fact that there are not enough seats.
If you've been accepted then you have to take leave up to your school in Germany and can discuss whether you have to repeat the school year or not.
A good preparation by the organization include a preparatory seminar, where the future exchange students are intensively prepared for their stay in the host country. The duration of the seminars is different for every organization. Most of the seminar is limited to a weekend. There are also organizations that book for a whole week.
content, the course topics are discussed in detail. Discussed topics such as school, family problems, clothes, pocket money, etc. Very often these seminars support of returnees, which of course can promptly report about their stay and give tips first-hand. It should be noted, however, that all exchanges runs differently and the experiences of the returnees are not exactly happen again. However, one should listen carefully and draw the right conclusions for themselves from it.
The seminars also be played like exaggerated situations that can happen during a stay abroad and that can sometimes be really funny.
For some countries need a visa. The necessary documents for the application should send the organization. Then there are several ways to get to the visa. You can send the documents by post (preferably registered mail) to the responsible for that message or to the consulate. This usually takes then a few weeks. One can also, provided you live nearby, go there in person. This should be able to speed up the whole thing. Sometimes even then you get the visa the same day.
Then you are just waiting for your host family, to take contact, buy the gifts, pack your bags and go fly! :-)
course it was not all, you need to know, but one probably gave you helped even a little bit. Questions in the comment box :-) I just
Some parts of the text I copied from the side austauschschueler.de! :-)
